Grilled Cajun Shrimp

There’s nothing quite like “shrimp on the Barbie”. We love it at my house. This is the best and quickest method I have found for making delicious grilled shrimp. I get requests for this recipe all the time, and the truth is, It just couldn’t be easier. Don’t you just love that? Delicious and easy! That’s my kind of recipe. (And, by the way, this is one of those recipes that isn’t really a recipe. I do it by feel, and you can too…)

Grilled Cajun Shrimp

  • 1 lb. large  RAW, uncooked shrimp (approx 25-30 per pound)  You can adjust this amount to accommodate the size of your group.  Plan on about 8 shrimp per person
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • Cajun Seasoning – this time I used Weber N’Orleans Cajun (as shown in pic),
Place desired amount of shrimp in a large bowl
Drizzle with olive oil and stir to coat
Sprinkle with Cajun Seasoning and stir to coat
Place seasoned shrimp into large grill basket
Cook shrimp in basket on a grill pre-heated to about 300 degrees
Cook over open grill, tossing shrimp constantly, until each shrimp has turned pink on both sides.
Be sure not to overcook, or shrimp will become rubbery.
Remove from heat and remove from basket to avoid overcooking
Serve with your favorite sides… pasta, potatoes, salad… these go with everything!!!!
